Cold days and nights don’t have to slow down the excitement around the city, as there is a lot to do and see. With many events taking place in Edmonton, you can start planning your nights out during the winter season and keep yourself entertained.
One of the of the most anticipated Christmas events is the Alberta Ballet In The Nutcracker. The Nutcracker has been a staple for holiday classics and watching it as a ballet performance puts a unique spin on the classic tale. If you have never been to the ballet, the Nutcracker is a great place to start your experience, which plays from Dec. 6- Dec.9, at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium.
Dinner & Live Music
Station on Jasper is one of the newest music scenes, offering live music from Thursday-Sunday. They provide a diverse range of music genres, with some shows already sold out. Live bands provide the energy of a concert, with the comfort of dining and drinks in a great atmosphere. Have a night out for a special occasion, or to explore the town.
Edmonton Oilers Games
Of course, it wouldn’t be right to talk about exciting events without mentioning the Oilers. The Edmonton Oilers will forever make our list, so be sure to check out a game this season. You can find the Edmonton Oilers Schedule and Hockey Ticket information by clicking here.
Edmonton Oil Kings Games
Not to exclude our other proud local hockey team, check out the Edmonton Oil Kings who also provide a fast-paced, action-packed alternative as they also play at home at Rogers Place. For more, check out their schedule and ticket information by clicking here.
If you’re looking to spark the Christmas spirit further, then Glow is a place worth the visit for an indoor experience. Located only 8 minutes away from the Ramada Edmonton Yellowhead Hotel, you can experience the millions of lights, interactive features and illuminated sculptures.
Royal Alberta Museum
The Royal Alberta Museum is featuring their late nights at the RAM every Thursday night. This is a great activity with the kids or to explore the museum after work. In addition to the children’s gallery, they have rotating exhibitions, along with cafes and shopping.
In addition to the traditional winter activities, such as skiing, skating and tobogganing, take advantage of everything the city, and the season, has to offer. Have fun!
